Introduction

Singapore has been rated as one of the most busy country. One of the factor is due to the development of the Mass Rapid Transport (MRT). Instead of talking about the development of the MRT, I will only share with all of you about a MRT station known as Bayfront MRT station which is located at the south of the Singapore.

Bayfront NRT station

Where is Bayfront MRT Station ?!?!

As we can see from the MRT map system (below), Bayfront (CE 1,DT 16)MRT station is located just above Marina Bay (NS 27,CE 2) station. Bayfront MRT station is being connect by two different lines known as the Circle line (8 to 10) and the Downtown line (11 to 12), Before reaching Bayfront MRT station, there is a cross junction between the circle line split into two different station. One of them is heading to Dhoby Ghaut (NS 24,NE 6,CC 1) and the other is heading to Marina Bay
(NS 27,CE 2)

The transport facilities featured in Bayfront MRT station

After alighting from the train, I made my way to the ticketing station where I could leave the MRT station. I was thinking that might be just an ordinary MRT station like many other MRT stations. Before another awful remark about this 'supposed to be an ordinary MRT station' came to my mind, to my amazement, I saw a beautiful portrait, stretching across from one end of the station to another about 30 metres long (below). The picture is filled with boats, sailing in the sea. It looked rather colourful from a distance.
This piece of art might catch some of the people especially the tourist's attention. Also giving them a small and good impression about how we Singaporeans cherish our art piece.

Then, after I tapped my EZ-Link card, the floor which looked like a target that was used in archery and the two layered of fluorescent lamp (hanging above the floor) shine brightly onto the floor. The designs that are layout in the middle of the station were surprisingly special compared to other MRT station. The floor was made of marble and it was smooth and shiny to prevent from any scratches by the people and  easy to clean for the cleaners whenever the floor was dirty. The lamp was lighted brightly to ensure that the place was bright.  (I almost forgot to mention this) In the middle of the MRT station, when I looked up around the first layer of the fluorescent lamp, I saw an empty hole all the way to the sky. This allows the air convention to take place between the sky and the MRT station to prevent the MRT station to be stuffy.

This is how the lamp and the floor looks like.

This is a picture of the floor which is designed and placed in the middle of the MRT station.

This is how it's looks like when you look above in the middle of the MRT station.

Also there are a few types of pillars that are built around the MRT station.
But I will only talk two different types of pillar in the station.

The first pillar (that is shown below) looked like a chainmail coated around the round pillar . Maybe the reasons why these pillars is designed in this way was because it was to prevent passengers leaning against the pillar. Or it could be just to enhance the strength of the pillar to support the station itself. The colour of the pillar was much more darker than the second type of pillar.

This is how the metal pillar looks like. It looks rather heavy from a distance.
The second type of pillar(that is shown below) which looked like an ordinary pillar that could be found at any local shopping mall. The pillar was made of greyish marble and it is smoother than the iron pillars that I have mention earlier. The purpose of this pillars to be design in this way might be due to the surroundings of the structure. In order to blend the surrounding structure such as the marbled floor, the pillars which are close towards the marbled floor are made of marble.
This is a marbled-looking pillar.
The ceilings that was built around the MRT station were made of pure white soft titles.(fake ceiling) The colour of the ceilings does match well with the structure around the MRT station but there was a problem. The problem was that the ceilings can easily get dirty and wear and tear. The ceiling might be a temporary ceiling.

The three paths.

There were three paths to go after reaching the Bayfront MRT station.

Heading north would lead me to one of the most expensive shopping mall Singapore has to offer located at the south of the Singapore. (picture shown below) This was the so-called main entrance from the MRT station to the shopping malls. The entrance was very wide for people to walk in and out especially during peak hours.
This is one of the entrance to the shopping mall close to the Bayfront MRT station.

Heading north-east would also lead me to the other side of the shopping mall. (picture shown below)
This was the second entrance to the shopping mall. Compared to the main entrance, it was slightly narrower. Maybe this path was meant for the people to lighten the congestion in the main entrance.

This is the other entrance to the shopping mall close to the Bayfront MRT station.
The third path which was heading east of the MRT station will lead me to Gardens By The Bay. This path is wider then the other two paths. Maybe in the future, they might put some art pieces around the area to fill up the space.
This is how the path looks like when heading east from the MRT station.

The path which lead me to Garden By the Bay

Along this path ,which would lead me to the Gardens By the Bay, had many beautiful portrait and pictures.
At the left side of the pathway, I could see an art piece which was painted using basic colours such as red, blue, green, yellow ,orange and maybe purple or indigo. By using all these colours, they paint it and made it into basic shapes like circles and rectangles. The picture might brighten up the people's expression as who will not feel happy when they see such a colourful picture.(shown below) The painter of this picture is believed by an oversea artist.
This is how the colourful picture looks like.

At the right side of the pathway, the wall was being replaced by mirrors. I am not very sure why they placed all the mirrors along the way. Maybe it was because of the design due to the surroundings or it was to create an illusion with the mirrors and the pictures shown on the other side of the wall.

This is how the 'wall of mirrors' is being designed.
After walking a couple of steps, I get to see some pictures which is related to nature along the way. The pictures are place in order.( Two mirrors / picture / Two mirrors / picture / Two mirrors ) The pictures were well organised and the colours of the picture are well match (from light to dark). If the pictures were to cramp all together without the mirror,
This is how the picture is being layout
There were many kind of picture. There were pictures about a rainforest, many different kinds of flowers and trees.
This is a picture about a rainforest. It is light green in colour.

This is a picture about a cherry blossom (A kind of Japan tree) It is pinkish in colour.

This is another picture about a rainforest. The plants in the picture might be ferns that is found in the forest.

This is a picture about a sea of yellowish-purple flowers.

This is picture about a tree full of flowers.

This is another picture about a tree full of flowers.

This is another picture about a blue sea of flowers. Maybe the name of the flower that is painted in the picture is called lavender?

This picture shows about the full-bloom flowers. The flowers looks like reddish daisy that is found in maybe Netherlands?
The purpose of these pictures being displayed along the pathway are to inform that the people who are walking straight to the other side of the station will lead them to Gardens by the bay.

The signs are being display after I reach the ending point of the underpass.

This staircase will lead me to Gardens by the bay.

The Reasons Why People Come To This MRT Station.

There are various reasons why people comes to this Bayfront MRT station. First and foremost, the people coming to this station might be due to the shopping malls and the restaurants around the Marina Bay Sands. There are many good restaurants such as the TWG café, carnivore (all meat buffet), the newly opened restaurant named baker street kitchen by Gordon Ramsey with more than 10 Michelin stars.

The second reason why they come to this MRT station might be visiting the art museum, the casino  the Marina Bay Sand's hotel(sky park) or the Gardens by the bay.
This is a picture about the entrance to the national art museum.

Lastly the people who come to this station might be the people who are working around the area.

Conclusion

In conclusion this Bayfront MRT station is extraordinary, unique and special compared to other MRT station around the Singapore in terms of the designs , location and the structure of the station. Hence I believed that one day maybe other MRT station might be as beautiful as Bayfront MRT station.
